WebSite key figures

Since beginning of 2012, I track visits of my web site to generate some anonymous statistics. This is done by using Piwik on my local server. To keep your privacy, only shortened IP addresses are recorded by this tracking system.

I’m going to present some key-figures, which might be interesting to know about. My blog is almost about computer science, especially web development. Developers may prefer other systems and devices than users with different interests. Thus, these key-figures cannot be generalized. They only represent data about visitors of my blog. Setting up server II

I’m still working on my server configuration.

My main page ist mueller-bruehl.de which is powered by a Java EE 6 application and contains this blog too. Still poor now, but shall be enhanced soon.

The other sites I host are pure HTML sites by now. Most of them have no or only small content and will be enhanced some day 😉

Setting up Server

After my former server burst into flames, I bought a new machine. I   installed VMware ESXi and placed some virtual servers on it. First thing   to get it up, was to replace the onboard LAN by an Intel LAN card. But,   after a few days, I got a purple screen of death. The more virtual   machines I installed the more PSOD I got. Ok, some weeks later and some   electronic parts exchanged, my server seems to run stable finally.

I switched from OpenSuse to ubuntu server. If you change your Linux   system, you’ll learn one important thing: Linux is not equal to Linux!   😉

Thus, I still have to perform some configuration tasks. But just now, I istalled wordpress to publish my first blog.

Lot of admin stuff for a software architect and developer 😀
