NetBeans 8.1 is scheduled for the mid of 2015. By now, most enhancements are included for the frontend (browser) development, like JavaScript frameworks, JavaScript editor, debugging facilities and more. Also support for the server side is enhanced, especial for Node and PHP. Since Java EE offers everything you need for server side programming, I hope there will be remarkable enhancements for this technology too. By now, support for remote WebLogic is integrated.

The new and noteworthy page [1] will be updated according the current development state.

The NetBeans release roadmap [2] gives you a rough impression about time scheduling for upcoming releases, whereas the Dashboard [3] comes with a detailed timeline and the current development state (overview). The dashboard offers a menu, which can be used to gather metrics and other information.

Stay tuned!
